Half Moon or Full Moon? Choosing a Lunar Advertising Plan
Half Moon is $500 a month for 2 cars; Full Moon is $1,500 for 7. The plans differ only in cars and price. Here is the per-car math and who each one suits.

Lunar has two plans, and they differ in only two ways: the number of cars and the price. Half Moon is $500 a month for 2 cars; Full Moon is $1,500 a month for 7. Everything else is the same on both: a sticker design made by Lunar's team that you approve, the same dashboard, the same matching, and no sticker fee or setup fee. So the choice comes down to how many cars you want out in your neighbourhood and what you want to spend.
The numbers side by side
| Half Moon | Full Moon | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $500 a month | $1,500 a month |
| Cars | 2 | 7 |
| Price per car | $250.00 | $214.29 |
| Estimated impressions a month | About 4,200,000 | About 14,700,000 |
| Estimated CPM | $0.12 | About $0.10 |
Per car, Full Moon is about 14% cheaper. The impressions are an estimate: Lunar models 70,000 per car per day, the top of the industry range for a wrapped vehicle, so 2,100,000 per car over a 30-day month. It is a modelled figure, not a count of views, and the CPM is the same kind of estimate.
Who Half Moon suits
- A first test of car advertising, where you want to see the dashboard and the response before committing more.
- A business that serves one tight neighbourhood, where two cars covering your target area is enough.
- A budget of a few hundred dollars a month that has to be spent carefully.
Who Full Moon suits
- A business with a wide service area, such as a trades company or a clinic that draws from several neighbourhoods.
- An opening, a season or a campaign where you want to be seen from many directions at once.
- A business that has already tried Half Moon and knows it is getting calls or visits.
What does not change between plans
A bigger plan does not buy better treatment: it buys more cars. Both plans get the same matching, the same dashboard and the same kind of drivers. You set target areas on a map on either one, and Lunar's team matches drivers by how their driving overlaps with them.
Terms and billing
Both plans run on a 3- or 6-month term, billed monthly. A term is binding, so cancelling early still owes the rest of it. A six-month term is 10% off every month for the same number of cars. Apart from the $50 deposit, nothing is charged until your first sticker is on a driver's car. Billing is per car slot: a slot's first charge is taken when its sticker is on a driver's car and the install photo is approved, each charge buys 30 days of verified driving, and a slot with no car carrying it is not billed. There are no credits for a gap, because an empty slot is simply never billed.
How to decide
Start from the area, not the price. Draw the neighbourhoods your customers come from; if two cars can reasonably cover them, Half Moon is enough, and if your customers are spread across a city, Full Moon gives you more cars through more streets. For more on the price itself, see what $500 a month buys in local advertising, and the pricing page for the current plans.
