Firefly is for people who already drive for a living: it puts a digital screen on the roof of rideshare, delivery, taxi and courier cars. Lunar is for anyone with a car they already drive: it puts small local-business decals on the doors, with no hours to hit. Lunar publishes this page, and Lunar is one of the apps compared. We checked each company's own site and app listing on November 2, 2026.

How Firefly works
Firefly's driver page says it accepts rideshare, delivery, taxi and courier drivers who drive 40 or more hours a week, tracked for at least 3 weeks before approval, in a 2011 or newer car with factory paint and location sharing set to "always". A Firefly office installs the display for free, and the company says the average driver earns $200 to $300 a month for displays, with wrap pay varying by campaign. The Rideshare Guy reported approval waits from three weeks to six months. Firefly also appears to own Wrapify now: what that means. Source: fireflyon.com/drivers.
How Lunar works
Lunar is a car advertising app that puts small circle decals from local businesses on everyday drivers' cars, one per door and at most four. It's free to join, with no fees and no deposit. You install the decal yourself from the instructions in the kit, a person checks your placement photo, and a short weekly check (a photo of each decal and an odometer reading) keeps you paid. Drivers can earn up to $500 a month, paid monthly through Stripe. There's no GPS tracking and no shifts. The weekly check asks for at least 25 miles (40 km in Canada) since your last reading, which a car that's driven regularly covers. Rideshare cars are welcome.
Can a rideshare driver do both?
Neither company's pages forbid it, and a rooftop screen and door decals sit in different places. Check Firefly's current terms before adding anything else to your car, and tell Lunar's team when you sign up that you drive rideshare.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose Firefly if you drive rideshare or delivery 40 or more hours a week and don't mind a screen on the roof and always-on location.
- Choose Lunar if you drive a normal week (commuting, errands, the school run) and want small decals with no hours and no GPS.
