What is car advertising and how does it work?

A plain-English guide to the everyday-car advertising marketplace — for drivers and businesses.

Car advertising puts a brand on a vehicle in exchange for payment. Lunar runs it as a two-sided local marketplace: businesses pay to place decals, and everyday drivers earn for carrying local brands.

The loop, end to end

• A business buys a plan — a number of cars in its target zones
• Lunar's team matches cars from drivers in those zones; the driver accepts and the business has 24 hours to veto
• Decals ship; drivers install and verify with two photos, then send them again every week
• Drivers drive their normal routes; an odometer reading in the weekly check approves mileage
• Drivers are paid monthly via Stripe, earning up to $500 a month

Kept honest

Every car is a verified, unique vehicle (by VIN), proven to be displaying the brand (by photo) and actually driving (by odometer). Impressions are sold as estimates — like billboards — never as guaranteed views.

Why it works locally

It's built for small and mid-size local businesses priced out of measurable reach, and for drivers who want passive income without a second job. Paid self-expression, one sticker at a time.
